VANCOUVER – The Village on False Creek is the place to be this summer, sizzling with dozens of events for Vancouver residents and visitors of all ages.

To help make the most of community life for new residents in this growing neighbourhood – and to help potential new residents and homeowners discover all the incredible things The Village has to offer – the Receiver for SEFC Properties Ltd. (Ernst & Young Inc.) is working in conjunction with community organizations, local non-profits, and the Creekside Community Centre to showcase the new community – all summer long.

“The Village on False Creek is a thriving new community on Vancouver’s waterfront that’s becoming more vibrant and attracting more visitors from all over Metro Vancouver than ever before,” said Craig Munro, Senior Vice President, Ernst & Young Inc. “The Village is also a great place to hold public events – with incredible public spaces, play areas for kids, a brand-new LEED Platinum community centre, a stunning new seawall, easy access to Science World and Skytrain, and more. It’s got it all.”

Event highlights include:

·      Carnivale (June 16 to June 19) – Join the carnival atmosphere with food, local vendors, street performances, games, green products, special activities for Father’s Day and more…and a 45 foot Ferris wheel!

·      Sunrise Yoga (every Saturday at 9 am from June 18 to August 27), in coordination with Creekside Community Centre

·      Village Farmers’ Market (3 pm – 9 pm every Friday in July)

·      The Village Busker Festival (July 8 and 9) – Come enjoy some live music at the Olympic Plaza at the Village on False Creek.

·      Summer Screen (every Thursday in August at sunset) – Imagine a European café-on-the-plaza experience – and then live it this summer on a warm summer evening at the Village – join us for classic films on an incredible outdoor movie screen.

The Village on False Creek will also be home to many other public events this summer, including the RTA Dragon Boat Festival (June 10-12), the MEC Bike Festival (June 25), the BC Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair (July 9), the Filipino Fiesta (August 6), and the BC Children’s Hospital’s Paddle for Kids (September 10).
