Burnaby Winter Event, Snowdeo Postponed until 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Burnaby, BC, January ( ) 2011 – Tourism Burnaby announces that the first annual Snowdeo, a snowboard rail jam scheduled for February 2011, will be postponed to 2012. Due to scheduling conflicts and the difficulty in booking athletes and performers during December’s holiday rush, the event will be postponed to 2012 in order to ensure the most successful event possible.
Snowdeo was officially launched to the public in mid-December, 2010 and scheduled to take place February 18th and 19th at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium. Scheduling conflicts, however, have resulted in the event being rescheduled for 2012. This additional time will allow for booking of top athletic talent and musical performers to round out this highly anticipated event. Plans are already underway to make Snowdeo 2012 an amazing event that will combine live music and spectacular stunts.
“Snowdeo will bring the slopes to the city of Burnaby for the first time ever, and we are very excited about plans that are in the works for 2012,” said Matthew Coyne, Executive Director at Tourism Burnaby. “We hope to build on the initial interest gained for Snowdeo to create an even larger and more exciting event for 2012.”
Those who have purchased tickets for the event will be contacted directly by event organizers.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting winter sports competition.
